Shadows and Light Conspiring – Sufjan Stevens’ ‘Carrie & Lowell’ – Original Art

Be reminded that darkness and light next to each other bring beauty

This is an original painting on wood based on Sufjan Stevens song ‘Carrie & Lowell, especially the phrase “Under the pear tree, shadows and light conspiring.” This phrase and this album reminds me of the strange correlation between light and dark in this world.

It is painted with acrylic paints on wood. The size is 235 x 265 x 10 mm. The wood is not entirely symmetrical and has a raw finish.

The artwork is sprayed with a varnish so that it will be more protected from dust, dirt and light.
