This is an original acrylic painting on paper titled ‘Roots’. It is inspired by these words from Virginia Woolf’s book The Waves: “I am the stalk. My roots go down to the depths of the world. The weight of the earth is pressed to my ribs.” This quote is also written on the painting.
It is painted with acrylic paints on acrylic paper. The size is 500 x 700 mm. There’s a small white border around the painting where it was taped to my easel. The painting is signed.
The artwork is sprayed with a varnish so that it will be more protected from dust, dirt and light. Next to this I would advice to frame the painting in a frame with special UV-glass to avoid any possible color loss over the years – especially if it will be hung in a sunny spot.
