This painting is based on the idea that if you’re not saying I’m this, or I’m that, but just leave the space after ‘I am’ blank you will find many surprises and possibilities. It is often said that we put other people in a box, but we put ourselves in one as well. This painting reminds me to let go of all the assumptions I have of myself and start every day with a blank slate.
Specifics
It is painted with acrylic paints on acrylic paper. The size is 500 x 700 mm including a small white border around the painting where it was taped to my easel.
The artwork is sprayed with a varnish so that it will be more protected from dust, dirt and light. Next to this I would advice to frame the painting in a frame with special UV-glass to avoid any possible color loss over the years – especially if it will be hung in a sunny spot.
