This photo shoot is a great example of finding beauty in unexpected places. I grew up in Veenendaal, and in my head it’s always been a bit of a boring town. Not many cute places there. But when we did this shoot in the city centre I was surprised by what I found. Maybe it has to do with seeing things so often you don’t appreciate them much, but I remember we started at the white church in the middle of town and was surprised by its simple beauty. Then we moved on to a few streets around the church and did find cute houses. One reminded us of the movie Notting Hill. And for some reason we walked into a second hand store I’ve never been before. We looked around, walked up a staircase and another one and found ourselves in an old, empty attic. A perfect photo location.
I learned that it’s so important to keep seeing with new eyes, even when you’ve seen things a thousand times. Who knows what you’ll notice this time?
It was fun :)
